The new breakfast nook is so cosy and we can fit a surprising amount of people around the table now. I adore the harlequin wallpaper which gives the room character and style. Although we lost the pantry, the joiner added shelves in the under stairs cupboard, including a special slot for the ironing board, mop and brush. The coat cupboard we knocked out to make room for the breakfast nook has been re-formed in the hallway, so you can no longer walk through the hall to the kitchen. We still have access through the living area though which feels completely normal now. The back end of the living space is now a playroom instead of being the only space you could put a large dining table. All in all the space just works better for us and indeed the next family who will move in.
