Beech Avenue We’re In

We’re in and I can’t tell you how excited I am about this project because the potential is massive here.  I’m completely re-thinking the space and turning this retirement bungalow into a 4 bedroom family home.  We’ve just moved from a compact 3 bedroom bungalow but this one already has more space.

The boys are in together in a huge long bedroom and I am next door in bedroom 2.  The 3 rooms at the back and the hallway will become a 43 sq m open plan living space and the best feature of the house.  The bedrooms will move upstairs into the loft conversion along with an extra bedroom and family bathroom.

In case you were wondering this house is on the same road as the previous one…

The existing floorplan..

The Lounge – don’t panic the wood chip wallpaper & fireplace will be going…

The lounge is enormous so has a playroom zone and I will aim to keep all the kids clutter filed away in the Ikea Expedit unit…

The beautiful kitchen – I know, I know, please contain your jealousy.  This will become a downstairs guest en-suite…

The dining area in the open plan kitchen.  This will become the en-suite for the downstairs guest room…

The bathroom will turn into the kitchen as if by magic.  In fact this will be the kitchen window with the sink under…

The long bedroom will become a kitchen diner with the kitchen at this end, although the back wall is coming out to merge the space with the bathroom behind…

This is the play end of the boy’s bedroom and will become the dining space in the open plan kitchen diner & family room…

The master bedroom is currently in bedroom 2 – this room will become the family area in the open plan space at the back of the house…

This will stay a desk zone in the family area of the open space but the wall to the left of the desk is coming out…

Wish me luck, I have ambitious plans and a very small budget!
